Streaming: Australian TV

australian Mar 28, 2020

Was kindly told yesterday that Channel 10 have put up some fun new content on 10play streaming. This includes old and new. Some things I’ll be watching:

Drunk History Australia

“This scripted comedy series takes Australia’s rich, and often surprising, history and retells it through the tipsy words of our most loved comedians and entertainers via the slightly distorted bottom of a beer or wine glass. These hilarious and skewed historic stories are re-enacted by a cast of comedic geniuses, who use lip sync to bring these dusty tales to life.”

Am looking forward to it. May not be for kids; swearing, I’m told.

How to Stay Married (s02)

“How To Stay Married is an eight-part comedy series about staying together when romance has made way for routine and the everchanging nature of family life continually throws curve balls into the mix. It’s a refreshing and heart-warming look at the problems that can befall even the best marriage, blending the daily challenges with the hilarious minutiae of domestic life. Six months on from the events of Season One…”

I loved s01, which is still there too (thanks, Ten)

Puberty Blues (the series)

“Shot in and around Sydney’s Sutherland Shire, Network 10’s AACTA and Logie Award-winning drama, Puberty Blues, showcases exceptional acting, writing and film craft, chronicling a special time in Australia’s history, right down to the Chiko rolls, choc tops and Cheezels – Summer, 1979. A coming of age story, Puberty Blues revolves around joined-at-the-hip teenagers Debbie and Sue, and their friends and family.”

Both seasons of this great 2014 series are available. I really enjoyed this realistic, yet nostalgic look back at the late 70s.
